Fading Blue

I thought I’d never feel again…  
But here I am
I’ve been drowning in the quiet  
Holding on to broken things  
But time has softened edges  
Of the pain your shadow brings
There’s a light behind the clouds  
And I can feel it now
The blue is fading, slow and true  
Not as dark as it used to be  
And I’m not missing all of you  
Just the part you left in me  
I'm learning how to start anew  
As the sky turns soft from fading blue
I still hear your name sometimes  
In songs or in the breeze  
But now it doesn’t break me  
It just passes through with ease
Healing isn’t loud or fast  
It’s just the hurt not meant to last
