Still in the Light

I still remember
Your touch in the evening air
Faded like the autumn light
But echoes still live there
You walked away slow
With silence too loud to bear
I tried to let go
But my hands held only air
Now the night paints over the past
But your name, it still outlasts
Every beat, every breath
Every second since you left
Still in the light, I see you glow
Even as I learn to let you go
Shadows dance, but I’m not cold
I'm healing slow, but getting bold
Wrote your name in empty skies
Watched the wind erase my cries
What we had, it wasn’t fake
But it wasn’t built to stay
Time will mend what love once broke
Your goodbye, my turning cloak
Now I walk a softer night
With no more tears left to fight
Still in the light, your ghost fades true
No longer chained by thoughts of you
Peace returns, the storm is still
I found myself, I always will
“Still in the light~~~
