Hit the lake and chased the sun

Same bars, same jokes, same run
Why did I pretend to be so grown-up?
Like the world would fall apart if I messed up
I thought I had to rush the climb
But maybe I just missed my time

Could’ve laughed a little more
Now I miss the mess I never made
That 20s kid I never was before
I did what I had to do
But forgot to just be young too
