Flicker

I was right in front of you
Still, somehow unseen
Between the cracks in your words
I kept turning invisible
Where your gaze passed by
Only shadows remained
Even as I gave off light

just a flicker,
something easy to ignore—

some flames burn
without a sound
and still turn everything to ash
Even in the days I smiled
silence carried weight

The corners I softened
have found their shape again
