The water’s pale, like heaven's gleam
The clouds are redder than the sun's beam
Sorrow stirs, in fields so wide
As I wander, tears I hide
No promise made, no one to come
Yet I wait, though no one’s home
Through the deepening shadows I stray
In the water’s play, I stay
The fields stretch far, beyond my sight
The road ahead, lost in the night
Beneath the trees, so tall they rise
The water village, in the skies
Though no one said they'd come for me
I wander near the water, endlessly
No promise made, no one to come
Yet I wait, though no one’s home
Through the deepening shadows I stray
In the water’s play, I stay
Beneath the towering trees I go
As waters murmur soft and slow
The branches high, they stretch so far
As the water reflects each new star
Though no one waits for me in the end
Still, to the pond I tend
The night grows still, the moon climbs high
And in its glow, I softly sigh
The wind and water gently sing
But I wait for nothing, for anything
No promises, no one to see
But I still stay by the quiet sea
The stars above, the waves below
In this quiet world, I know
No promise made, no one to come
Yet I wait, though no one’s home
Through the deepening shadows I stray
In the water’s play, I stay
