I was not bound - by any stretch of the mind
I could not be found - there was nothing to find
And then it occurred - (well it’s a little late now)
just skin and bones - (what you’ve been harbouring inside)
With nowhere to run - (we call a nervous breakdown)
It was hidden in plain sight
Right before you fully crumble
So take this new lease on your life
Yeah – we all fumble
I read about truth – in philosophy
But I did not feel – that it spoke to me
I studied the gods (to feel a little bit closer)
Read poetry (tongue tied it feels a little frozen)
Yet the void remains (I keep looking over my shoulder)
It’s as big as can be (in spite of all of my devotion)
Each day brings with it new life
It all starts with one decision
For each and all of your insights
There will always be revision
I was walking at night – I couldn’t see
But I never lost my sight – in darkness Im free
So im wandering at night – my back turned to the light
No reason to hide
I breathe – and I exhale
