Time flies, deep sighs
Lost in coulda, shoulda, woulda
Not enough hours in the day
Too many things we’ve got to put off
Lost for time, can’t wait
Left early, arrive late
Made up the extra hours
Still no time to take a break
We’re playing for time
But left behind
Worn down by the daily grind
Alarm set to remember
Too many things on the mind
Cross off the list
What’s next?
Can’t stop the clock or catch a breath
Working a ten hour day with just three hours rest
It’s like, where did all the time go
The plans never kept
Na it waits for no man
Stitch in time ain’t saved mine yet
Sugar and coffee keeps us pepped
Cigarettes and weed release the stress
Rolling over, hitting snooze
Leave you with a day of not quite yet
Slip through the net and caught the sun set
A few precious moments kept
All we’ve got to hold on to
Outweighed by the times we’re overstretched
Vexed
The hands point to keep the pace
We’re all wound up
No turning back
You can’t erase the slightest trace
Wasted years and tired eyes
Through the hour glass we slide
Holding on to seconds
But the hour hand decides
Nothing lasts forever
Sometimes we all lose our stride
Holding on to memories
Of when time was on our side
They’ve got us chasing our shadows
We’re slipping though the hour glass
This too shall pass
Straws we grasp
Were never really meant to last
You know what time it is
You got the time
See the queue’s about to break
Stay and hold them all together
I can’t take the wait
Spring forward, fall back
No time to fill the gaps
Clocking in, signing out
Feed the hunger, take a nap
Nah time for that
Pushing on till we pass out
Throwing stones at this clock face
To break our way out the glass house
Its cat and mouse they set the traps
We’re too tired to even notice
After work, rush hour
To the bar to blur the focus
A few pints a couple of doubles
One more for the road
That’s time please
Two steps forward
Three steps back
As we fumble around for the house keys
Ah, please some rise already
Steady yourself kick off your shoes
Eyelids weigh a ton fall on the bed dazed and confused
Yesterday is today’s news
A moment’s peace helps to maintain
Before the sound of the alarm clock starts a ringing in your brain
And it’s like why?
Oh why do we do it to ourselves?
