Blood from the soul bio

The offspring of Napalm bass pounder Shane Embury, BFTS was the product of his fascination with New York guitar godz Sonic Youth and The Swans, as well as finding a home for some material that wouldn't fit into the context of Napalm Death. BFTS has been in the works for over two years as Shane began to lay down rough tracks in November of 1992, slowly building on them ove adding various samples and rhythm tracks. By Mar the year and adding various samples and rhythm tracks. By March of `93 the album was complete, except for vocals. Lou Koller, of angst ridden NYHC terrorists Sick Of It All, was selected to be the guttural voice to complete Blood From The Soul. "Lou and I became such great friends since the New Titans on the Bloc tour (which featured Sepultura, Sacred Reich, Napalm Death, and Sick Of It All) and I was totally influenced by the whole New York scene, so naturally NYC was the place to find the vocalist. I sent Lou the rough tracks and he was totally into the stuff I sent him. His vocal style and attitude fit in so well to the context of what the band was all about." So, in June of 1993, Lou laid down the vocal tracks to complete the "To Spite The Gland That Breeds" LP. Shane has every intention on taking this project on the road and beyond. "When the time is right, I want to tour this band, maybe put together a full band; drums, bass, and at least three guitars. The shows will definitely feature lots of improvisation." There are also ten brand new Blood From The Soul songs, waiting to be recorded.
